GM Event "Rescuing The Messenger"

There was a GM event today and I was lucky enough to be invited to it. It started just inside the Halas PoK stone. There was Shaman named Liam asking us to retrieve a captured messenger from Kael Drakkal. We assembled and went to find him. Hissitor was our raid leader and was calling the shots during the battle.

When we got there there was a giant named Abaris The Mean. It was obvious that this mob was actually a human controlled mob that was attacking everyone and couldn't be tanked by one person. He kept healing himself and there was nothing we could do about it. Eventually the GM decided to let us win and Abaris stopped healing himself. We then escorted the messenger back to the Halas PoK stone.

Here, Hissistor got to choose between three items. I took pics of the items but didn't feel like putting them up. Hissistor did a really good job of RP'ing during the whole raid as well. Was quite fun, I got some Halas 10 lb meat pies out of it too.

That seems to be the standard procedure for GM events with human-controlled mobs- chaos for a while since normal aggro rules don't apply, then sooner or later they sort of let the players win.

I remember one odd event though. If there's ever an angry rat anywhere near Rivervale that the townsfolk complain is eating all their crops, remember to keep giving it food. Any food will do. ;)

This was major fun and totally insane. That Meanie was very mean. We had him down to 23% when he decided to complete heal and it seemed forever till we could budge him on hitpoints.

Oddly, my mana never went down despite nuking my little heart out and healing my pet. Yes I have FT 15, but I should have needed med time at some point. :)

Best line came from 'The Messenger' when we had him escorted to the PoK book in GD. 'Hey everybody! Look! I found the book. I'm the greatest messenger in the whole world!'

He then proceeded to claim all glory to his superiors in Everfrost. What a crackup and what a fun time.

Congrats to those who received some great rewards ... and we supporting players who got some very nice stat food for our efforts.
